Sketch #292 (Alternate Version)

I thought I'd see what I could make of the sketch in my previous post with a little more editing on the computer. So here she is after a touch here, a digital adjustment there, and (obviously) conversion to a redhead.

I think the woman in this sketch ended up with a happier expression than those in the previous two sketches (maybe because she's neither confined in a tower nor stuck in a dark forest).

Sketch #291: "In the Forest"

A woman wanders through a wooded region. I kept the middle section free of trees to indicate a clearing or possibly the edge of the forest.

As the title would indicate, I envisioned this sketch as a princess by her window in a medieval tower.

This sketch had its good and bad points. I did a fair amount of digital editing in Corel Photopaint in an attempt to correct or obscure the more glaring of the flaws, while retaining as many of the good parts as possible.

Sketch #288: "Proserpine 2"

This sketch is (loosely) based on on the 1874 oil painting Proserpine by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. I drew an earlier one back in September of last year (sketch #129 on that page). I like the most recent one better in most respects, but I still have plenty of room for improvement :)

This sketch is the second tracing of an initial attempt, and thus the third try, hence the title.
