Tuesday, July 24, 2007Sketch #275 Ok, I finally got the eyes down to a more realistic size. This is a tracing from a preliminary sketch. I went quite dark with the shading/shadows, but it gave me a chance to give the subject a more 3 dimensional look. Ted |

Saturday, July 21, 2007Sketch #274 I seem to be continuing the "big-eyed" theme, although not intentionally. After drawing a few preliminary sketches where they eyes were too small, I think I somewhat overcompensated in that regard. Oh well :) Ted |

Tuesday, July 17, 2007Sketch #273 Here's another close-up. It bears some similarity to the close-up I posted on June 30 (the pose, light hair, somewhat larger-than-proportional eyes). I think it's an improvement, however, having a better facial expression, proportion, and hair style. Ted |

July 13, 2007 A Video Well, it doesn't look like I'll have a new sketch ready in time to post this week, but in lieu of that I present the video "272 Sketches":
Basically, the video consists of the drawings I've posted here so far (with some minor variations) presented in rapid succession with some fast-paced percussive music I composed and mixed specifically for the video. You'll need javascript enabled to see it. Ted |

Thursday, July 5, 2007Sketch #272 This sketch is a tracing of the one I posted Monday. Aside from the obvious addition of hair, I think I was able to improve the overall shading and the shape of the lips. I'm not so sure about the eyes, however, as her expression looks a bit "zombie-like" to me. Ted |

Monday, July 2, 2007Sketch #271: "The Bald Look" Personally, I prefer the look of a woman with long hair, but I thought it would be interesting to try to sketch an attractive bald woman. I can always draw the hair later :) Ted |
