 Monday, June 25, 2007Sketch #269 The face of the woman in today's sketch looks somewhat more realistic to me than that in the previous post. I think drawing the mouth larger this time helped, although I may have gone a tad too far in that regard. Ted |

 Saturday, June 16, 2007Sketch #267 This sketch ended up darker than is usually the case for me. Partially this was because I really wanted to get some good shadows; partially because it's a tracing from a preliminary sketch, which made erasures more difficult. Ted |

 Tuesday, June 12, 2007Sketch #266 This sketch was a tracing of #265. I think the eyes are in better proportion to the head and the features are more delicate. On the other hand, I'd say the original has a better chin line. Oh well :) Ted |

 Wednesday, June 6, 2007Sketch #264 This sketch is very similar in pose to the one I posted previously, but I think it turned out a lot better. I took my time and drew a few preliminary doodles to get warmed up, which I have not always done (leading, sometimes, to disappointing results). I'm going to make a "half-year's resolution" to take my time more when I sketch. I might not be able to post quite as often, but hopefully what I post will be more pleasing to the eye. Ted |
