Sketch #270

I thought draw a close-up again, not having done so in quite a while. It's nice having a little more room to work on the fine details. I will have to do more of these.

Sketch #269

The face of the woman in today's sketch looks somewhat more realistic to me than that in the previous post. I think drawing the mouth larger this time helped, although I may have gone a tad too far in that regard.

Sketch #268

In contrast to the somewhat somber expressions in the subjects of my previous three sketches, this woman seems a bit cheerier.

Sketch #267

This sketch ended up darker than is usually the case for me. Partially this was because I really wanted to get some good shadows; partially because it's a tracing from a preliminary sketch, which made erasures more difficult.

Sketch #266

This sketch was a tracing of #265. I think the eyes are in better proportion to the head and the features are more delicate. On the other hand, I'd say the original has a better chin line. Oh well :)

Sketch #265

Well, here's my second sketch for this week. It's better than some I've done, but not as good as I'd like it to be. I might do some more tracing/revision in the future.

Sketch #264

This sketch is very similar in pose to the one I posted previously, but I think it turned out a lot better. I took my time and drew a few preliminary doodles to get warmed up, which I have not always done (leading, sometimes, to disappointing results). I'm going to make a "half-year's resolution" to take my time more when I sketch. I might not be able to post quite as often, but hopefully what I post will be more pleasing to the eye.

Sketch #263

Another day, another sketch. The eyes are perhaps a little overly large, but I like her :)
